CF Day

Best words to describe yesterday - too cool!!!

It was being held at the harbour which makes perfect sense since of course here, they have the Navy.
First we got to tour the ship.

Unfortunately, i didn't get a better shot of the boat because i was balancing Dani on my hip, and Daddy had Kat and Ellie. It was amazing though. A little nerve wracking at times because of the metal stairs that you had to climb and go down to go through the boat.. I would have been nervous doing that with just myself, but having Dani in the sling on my hip and trying to grab for the rails was tough. But very interesting to see all the weapons, and the cockpit (is that what it is called on a ship?), the inflatable boats and all the buttons.

After the boat, we started the tour of all the tents, and trucks that they had on display.

Each of them got to sit in one of the trucks..
Kat - LOVED it!!

Ellie - A little scared, but loved it!
Dani - Wanted out ASAP!!! LOL

The wheels of the next truck was enough to scare them from not getting into the cab. LOL

So there was no way they were getting into the TANK!!

But they got to use a metal detector to hunt for treasure.

Kat found a Button. Ellie found a coin.

Next tent had the equipment that they use for disarming land mines. They each got to try it on.

Ellie did try it on too, but missed the picture of it.

Next... driving an inflatable boat...

Luckily the military disabled it quite well cause the girls definitely tried to get it going. ;)

And at the very end, a helicopter started showing off in the harbour. It flew low around the boat for at least 10 minutes.

So at the end, we were all frozen, our fingers were a little pink and numb, our pockets were full of freebies, and it was a walk straight uphill to the car, but we all had a blast, and Kat is even more sure that she wants to become a soldier when she grows up. Lots of fun. :)

The pics, and a few more can be seen here
